Starting today, Mininova will use a content recognition system that detects and removes torrent files linking to copyright infringing files. The system will also prevent the torrents from being re-uploaded to mininova later on.

Apple and Twitter are reportedly in serious negotiations over a possible $700 million sale of the social networking site, with the deal set to be announced in June if successful.
Of course this is all based on speculation from a source close to ValleyWag, which states that he's been recruited by Apple and says the two are locked in talks over a potential sale.

Another Swedish ISP has decided not to retain customer IP records in an attempt to protect user anonymity. Tele2 announced this week that it plans to start deleting all IP records after they had been used internally—a move that is still legal under Swedish law, but is beginning to irk law enforcement.

A Vietnamese security company has detected what it believes is a new worm that thwarts Google's security protections in order to register new dummy Gmail accounts from which to send spam.

A court in Sweden has jailed four men behind The Pirate Bay (TPB), the world's most high-profile file-sharing website.
Frederik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, Carl Lundstrom and Peter Sunde were found guilty of breaking copyright law and were sentenced to a year in jail.
They were also ordered to pay 30m kronor (�2.4m) in damages.
