Companies considering plans to move to Vista should dump the deployment and wait for Windows 7 according to a senior Microsoft executive.

Apple is at a crossroads. The iPhone is huge, but it's hit its plateau of growth. As it currently stands, the iPhone will capture no more of the market than it already holds. In order to keep growing and corner more of the smartphone market, Apple is going to need to appeal to a broader base of customers.
The management over at Apple realizes this, and they've already started making plans to take the iPhone into the future. High-level executives at Apple recently sat down with analysts from Oppenheimer a... |

Wholesale copying of music on P2P networks is fair use. Statutory damages can't be applied to P2P users. File-swapping results in no provable harm to rightsholders.
These are just some of the assertions that Harvard Law professor Charles Nesson made last week in his defense of accused file-swapper Joel Tenenbaum. In court filings, Nesson spelled out his defense strategy, which doesn't appear to involve claims that his client "didn't do it." Instead, Nesson argues that it doesn't matter if Tenenbaum copie... |

EA is no stranger to piracy trouble. Spore was leaked online before the game's retail release, and ironically the DRM the game shipped with to stop piracy caused a huge backlash with gamers, leading to Amazon getting review-bombed. Well buckle up: it looks as is if Sims 3 is the latest game to be leaked.

Gmail now migrates e-mail and contacts from other providers, including Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, and a few dozen others. This means you can still view those special messages sent to the old account in your new Gmail account.
The new migration feature also lets you have your messages forwarded from your old account for 30 days, giving you time to inform those on your contact list about the new e-mail address. Of course, you can always go back and check the old account once in a while in case that person you ne... |

Asa Dotzler, director of Community Development at Mozilla, made the prediction in a blog posting after analyzing usage data for browsers since 2004, when Firefox was first released.
The data shows a steady decline in Internet Explorer’s market share from over 90 per cent in 2004 to under 70 per cent today. Meanwhile Firefox has risen from nothing to over 25 per cent.
Oddly the features of the different browsers seem to have very little effect on market share, suggesting that Microsoft will not regain ... |

Back on December 18 last year, Toshiba announced it would have a 512GB SSD in volume production by around April this year. That promise fulfilled, Toshiba has now launched the world’s first notebook with a 2.5-inch 512GB solid state drive, but as with all cutting edge technology, being the first with the latest will cost you a pretty penny!
