HP grabbed the worldwide market share lead from IBM in the first quarter as sales globally continue to rebound, according to market research firms IDC and Gartner.
Both firms said HP saw server revenues jump, while IBM figures slid in the quarter.

Apple has pushed past arch-rival Microsoft to become the world's biggest technology company.
Changes in the share price values of the two in Wednesday's choppy trading left the total value of Apple at USD222bn (154bn).
Microsoft is now valued by investors at USD219bn.
However, Microsoft still enjoys higher profits than Apple. Its most recent annual net profit was USD14.6bn (ã10bn), compared with USD5.7bn for Apple.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer continues to dominate corporate browser use more so than it does private use, with its nearest rival, Mozilla's Firefox, lagging far behind with one in seven businesses opting for it, according to data collected by Internet-based security service Zscaler.

Social network giant Facebook will roll out a new set of privacy settings to all its users starting on 26 May.
Founder Mark Zuckerberg and other senior Facebook executives will discuss the changes at its Palo Alto headquarters at 6.30pm (BST).
Facebook faced a barrage of criticism from users over a series of tweaks that left its members unsure about how public their information had become.

Twitter has revealed that it has over 105 million registered users, with 300,000 new users signing up every day.
The Twitter API handles 3 billion requests per day which, according to co-founder Evan Williams, "makes Twitter about the same size as Yahoo." He said the service has grown 1,500 percent each year on average since "Twitter Inc." was founded three years ago.

According to data from Arbor Networks, or all but the world's two largest ISPs, Google carries more internet traffic than all other ISPs in the world.
If Google were an ISP it would be the fastest-growing data carrier on the planet, with its size matched only by two unnamed tier 1 providers. Google was contributing to around six percent of the world's internet traffic as of mid-2009.

Internet hardware company Cisco Systems has unveiled a router that is potentially capable of transferring data at up to 322 Terabits per second (Tbps), or around 32 times faster than a regular 100Mbps home computer network.
