Twitter Inc. said its valued at USD3.7 billion after receiving a USD200 million round of funding led by venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
The company also added two directors to its board, Chief Executive Officer Dick Costolo said in a blog post. Twitter spokesman Matt Graves provided the valuation in an e-mailed statement.

Google has delayed a much anticipated branded laptop powered by its Chrome operating system until next year.
Instead of a Chrome OS device for general release, Google announced a pilot programme aimed at people who "live on the web".
Chrome OS is Google's boldest bid yet to erode Microsoft's market dominance with Windows software.

Porn sites are among the top users of a browser bug that reveals all the places people go online, finds research.
Carried out by computer science researchers at UC San Diego the study found 485 sites exploiting the bug.
The flaw gives sites access to all the other sites that user has visited. Many use it to target ads or see if users are patronising rivals.

Only a tiny percentage of UK homes have super-fast broadband and mobile speeds are slow compared to other nations, Ofcom has revealed.
In its annual International Communications Market report, the regulator said more needed to be done on fixed and mobile broadband.
Less than 1 percent of UK homes have super-fast broadband, compared to over a third of Japanese consumers.

Google has said it will tweak its search service in an attempt to tackle online piracy, following lobbying by the music industry.
The search giant will implement four changes, including the removal of words that are associated with piracy from appearing in its autocomplete feature.
However, it will not prevent sites that host illegal copyright material from appearing in its search results.

Google Editions, which was announced in spring and expected to launch in summer, is expected to be available in the U.S. by the end of the month, Google spokeswoman Jeannie Hornung told CNET today. WikiLeaks claims it has come under a "mass" cyber attack just moments after it leaked 250,000 US embassy documents to media outlets across the globe.

Three Pirate Bay founders have been unsuccessful in their attempt to overturn their prison sentences for copyright infringement.
It all stems back to a court ruling over a year ago, when Fredrik Neij, Peter Sunde and Carl Lundstrom were found guilty of assisting users of the still-active Pirate Bay to break Sweden's copyright law and sentenced to one-year jail sentences.

WiFi appears to cause deciduous trees health problems, including bark fissures, premature dead leaves and bleeding, according to a study by Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
The study, released Nov. 19, found that about 70 per cent of all trees in urban areas show the symptoms across the western world, up from 10 per cent five years ago.
